Cats are naturally very hairy creatures and come with a lot of fur so it is normal for cats fur to be left without any cuts, but in some cases with long haired cats it is quite good to give them a hair cut once in a while to avoid matting.
Some owners like to have their cats shaved every month because the fur can get very easily matted and once a cats fur gets matted it is very, very hard to brush out.
Shaving a cat is a very popular groom in a lot of countries and you can get very creative with the style and design of a cat shave.
But, you don't have to shave a cat down to the skin, you can just shave a bit of the hair off to keep it shorter and more tidy and reduce malting.
In this video Laura will be demonstrating a skin shave clipper cut, and showing you how to shave specific areas like the paws, legs and the face.
